Shopify agency · Subscription & DTC
A Shopify agency built for subscription brands.
Stores for DTC brands whose customers are meant to come back.
(opens in a new tab) Subscription is where DTC margin lives, and it is also where stores get complicated: plans, portals, dunning, churn and the flows that hold it all together. We build subscription-first Shopify stores, and Knack Snacks, one of the brands we work with, is built the same way from the ground up.
Certified Partner We build DTC stores around the reorder, and run what brings it in.

All industriesWhy subscription brands work with us
A Shopify agency for subscription brands is judged on something a launch cannot show: whether customers are still ordering six months later. That changes what gets built, and who should run the ads and the email once the store is live.
We build subscription-first
Knack Snacks is built subscription-first on Shopify, from the offer on the product page to the customer portal and the reorder path. We treat subscription as the core of the store, not a bolt-on you add later.
We run retention on our own brands
Powerlete and Fittr are ours, run in-house with the email and SMS flows that keep customers coming back. The churn-reduction tactics we bring you are the ones we run on our own subscription revenue.
Real UK DTC brands, built and grown
WUKA, the leak-proof reusable period underwear brand, is a UK Shopify store we build and grow. We work with DTC brands where the whole model depends on customers coming back, not on a one-off sale.
How a subscription brand build runs
From the first order to the fifth
-
Find the reorder rhythm
How often the product runs out, and whether a subscription fits it at all. The plans follow from that, not from an app default.
-
Build the offer into the store
The subscription choice on the product page, a portal customers can use, and reviews and loyalty designed into the theme.
-
Connect the demand
Ads that land on pages making the same promise, and email and SMS flows timed to where each customer is in the cycle.
-
Run it and read it
Support, testing and consultancy after launch, judged on the orders that repeat, not only the first.
A subscription brand, run end to end
Knack Snacks
Build, paid ads, email, support and consultancy
DTC marketing agency
One team from the ad to the reorder
Knack Snacks sells high-protein chocolate snacks direct, in the UK and the US. We built their store subscription-first on Horizon, and the work did not stop at launch: we run their paid ads, their email marketing and their day-to-day support, and consult on what comes next.
A subscription brand pays to win a first order so that it can keep the fifth. With one team running the ads, the store and the email, the ads are judged on the customers they keep, rather than argued over between three agencies.
Knack Snacks
UK and US markets, and a wholesale store
Subscription ecommerce
Two markets and a wholesale store, one brand
Knack trades in the UK and the US from one store, set up so pricing, currency and delivery read correctly in each. An American subscriber gets an American checkout, not a British one with the numbers converted.
We also set up their wholesale side: a separate wholesale store where retailers and stockists order on trade accounts and payment terms. Trade pricing stays out of sight of subscribers, and the consumer store stays simple.
DTC agency
What a subscription brand needs around its store
Winning the first order
A landing page that keeps the ad’s promise
Paid traffic lands on a page making the offer the ad made, so the subscribe-and-save price is no surprise at checkout.
Proof beside the button
Reviews and the answers to the obvious questions sit next to add to cart, where a first-time buyer is deciding.
Earning the next one
Flows timed to the product
Email and SMS sent when a customer is about to run out, not on a calendar somebody picked.
Loyalty built into the theme
Rewards and reviews designed as part of the store, not left in whatever frame the app ships with.
Growing past one channel
Another market, done properly
Pricing, currency, duties and delivery that read correctly in each country, set up through Shopify Markets.
Wholesale kept apart
A separate wholesale store on trade accounts, so retailer pricing never reaches a subscriber.
A store handed over at launch, or a brand run after it?
Some brands only need the build, and we will say so when that is you. Here is where the two differ for a subscription or DTC brand.
| Question | A build-only agency | Build, then run it with you |
|---|---|---|
| Subscriptions | Often an app added after launch | Designed into the product page from the start |
| Ads and email | Briefed to other agencies | Run by the team that built the store |
| Retention advice | Drawn from client work | Tested on our own subscription brand first |
| More markets | Scoped as a later project | Set up with the store when the brand needs it |
| Depth in one channel | A specialist email or paid-social agency can go deeper | Broad across the funnel, not the deepest in every channel |
| Ongoing cost | Ends at handover | Continues, because we keep running it |
A DTC brand we support, and one we own
WUKA
Build, conversion testing, international selling and support
DTC ecommerce agency
A DTC product that has to be explained first
WUKA makes leak-proof reusable period underwear, sold direct. With no shop assistant to answer the questions, the store has to: absorbency, fit, how many pairs. We built it with those answers inside the buying path, then ran conversion testing on what the page says and in what order.
We also set up their international selling, with Markets, pricing, duties and localisation, and we still support the store. A DTC brand owns the whole customer conversation, so the store does the explaining a retailer would otherwise do.
Subscription ecommerce agency
Our own subscription brand, run in-house
Fittr Nutrition is ours, a supplements brand best known for its creatine gummies. Its subscriptions have run on Loop since the first day it traded, and we run everything else in-house too: the store, the creative and the retention flows.
So the advice we give a subscription brand has been paid for on our own margin first. When we say a plan option, a portal change or an email flow is worth doing, we are reporting what we run, not what we have read.

How we work with you
A subscription-first build
A new store or a rebuild, with the offer, the portal and the reorder path designed in from the start.
Subscriptions on a live store
Plans and a portal added to a store that already trades, without breaking what sells.
The funnel, run for you
Paid ads, email and support from the team that built the store, as we do for Knack Snacks.
Consultancy
A second opinion on plans, cancellations and retention, from a team running its own subscription brand.
Is this the right agency for your DTC brand?
We are a Shopify agency. We build subscription and DTC stores and run the marketing behind them, most usefully where the store is the business.
Worth a conversation
- You sell a product people run out of, direct, on Shopify
- Subscribers are cancelling and the portal is part of the reason
- Your ads, your email and your store sit with three different teams
- You sell, or want to sell, in more than one market
Probably not us, yet
- Most of your sales come through Amazon or retailers, not your own store
- You need fulfilment, packing or a warehouse partner
- You only need a subscription app set up on a store that already works

Subscription & DTC Shopify questions, answered
Which subscription setup do you build on?
We build on Shopify’s subscription tooling and the established apps in the space, chosen to fit how you sell rather than by default. The aim is a clean plan structure, a portal customers can actually use, and reliable billing. A subscription ecommerce agency earns its fee on the second month rather than the first, which is a different brief from a DTC ecommerce agency optimising a single checkout.
How do you reduce subscription churn?
By building for it: sensible plan options, an easy pause-instead-of-cancel path, dunning on failed payments, and email and SMS flows timed to the customer lifecycle. We tune these on our own brands, so we bring you what has actually moved our numbers.
Can you migrate our subscriptions without losing customers?
Subscription migrations are delicate because live billing and customer data are involved, so we plan them carefully and test before anything goes live. We run the move end to end rather than leaving the risky part with you.
Do you work with DTC brands beyond subscriptions?
Yes. We are a DTC Shopify agency first, and subscription is one lever; we build the whole DTC store around repeat purchase, from acquisition through to retention. We run our own DTC brands, so we build for the model as operators, not just developers.
Are you a DTC marketing agency as well as a Shopify build agency?
Yes, where the brand wants one team. For Knack Snacks we built the store and now run their paid ads, email marketing and day-to-day support. A DTC agency that runs only the ads, or only the build, cannot see both what a customer costs to win and what they spend once kept, and on a subscription store that is the business.
Should a new DTC brand launch with subscriptions, or add them later?
If the product runs out on a rhythm, launch with them. Fittr Nutrition, our own brand, has run subscriptions on Loop since its first day trading, so the offer and the portal have always been part of how it sells. If the rhythm is unclear, launch one-off, with a product page that can take a subscription later without a rebuild. Subscription ecommerce works when the plan matches how the product is used.
Send us the store, and where customers drop off
A link and a line on what is not working is plenty: first orders, cancellations, or ads that do not pay back. We will come back with what we would change first.
