Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This policy explains which cookies Elms Agency uses and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
The cookies we use
Essential
This is a fast, largely static site. We use only the minimum storage needed to serve it securely, to remember your cookie choice, and to remember whether you asked to see prices in pounds or dollars. These do not need your consent.
Analytics
Analytics is off until you turn it on. Nothing in this category loads, and no cookie in it is set, unless you accept it on the banner. It covers Google Analytics (GA4), which we use to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is not in this category and is not controlled by the banner. It counts page views without setting a cookie, without storing anything on your device and without any identifier that could follow you between sites or sessions, so there is nothing about it to consent to. It tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors arrive from, and nothing about you personally.
Marketing
Marketing is on when you arrive. We are telling you that plainly rather than describing it as consent, because a category that is already on when you land is not something you have agreed to. It covers two services:
- Upstack, our advertising measurement pixel. It forwards to Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, which is the reason it exists.
- Leadfeeder, which works out which organisation a visit came from. It identifies a company, not you, and we make no attempt to work out which person visited. There is more on this in our Privacy Policy.
Both set cookies on your device. Switch marketing off in Preferences and they stop, for good. Two honest limits on that: switching off cannot retract something that has already loaded on the page you are looking at, and it cannot reach back and delete cookies these services have already set. Your browser settings can do the second part.
Managing cookies
You choose whether to allow non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, and you can change that choice at any time. The Preferences screen shows the true state of each category rather than a flattering one: the marketing switch reads on because it is on. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.
Third parties
Google (Google Analytics), Upstack and Leadfeeder set the non-essential cookies described above. Their own privacy policies govern how they use that data. Cloudflare, which provides both our hosting and the cookieless page counting described above, sets no cookies here at all.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
