Web design & search · Restaurants

Restaurant marketing that fills the table, not just the page.

A hungry visitor decides in under a minute whether to book, on the menu, the photos and whether booking looks easy. The job is turning that minute into a reservation, not writing about the food.

01 Why restaurants work with us

The booking has to be easier than picking up the phone

A hungry visitor decides in under a minute whether to book, and every extra step between the menu and a confirmed table loses some of them. We build and keep rebuilding the reservation path: how many fields it asks for, whether it shows real availability, and what happens the moment someone submits it.

One team for the site, the ads and the search

A restaurant does not want three suppliers to referee. We build the site, run the Google and Meta ads, and do the search work behind it, so the click the ads paid for lands on a page built to convert, wired into the CRM you already run so a booking is tracked rather than retyped. Built to hold as you scale it, across the UK and the US.

See that work

The menu is the product page, and it has to stay current

Prices change, dishes come off, and allergen information is a legal requirement rather than a nicety in the UK. We build the menu so your team can update it themselves in minutes, not so it sits as a PDF nobody has touched since opening week.

02 How a hungry search becomes a booked table

A restaurant is chosen in under a minute, and most of that minute goes on a menu and on deciding whether booking looks like work. Nothing here is a lead you buy from us. It is a machine you own: a menu that loads instantly, a booking that finishes on a phone, and search that puts you in front of somebody deciding where to eat tonight.

  1. The menu is the website, so it cannot be a PDF

The menu is what almost every visitor came for, and a PDF that has to be pinched and zoomed on a phone is where the decision goes to die. Real text, fast, with prices on it. This one thing decides more covers than anything else on the site.

  2. Booking has to finish in the same minute it started

Every extra screen between deciding and a confirmed table costs a share of the people who had already chosen you. A booking step that is slow or wants an account is quietly handing them to a platform that charges you per cover.

  3. Local search is the battleground and the photographs decide it

Most restaurant discovery happens in maps and local results, where photographs and opening hours do more work than any paragraph. Keeping those accurate and good is unglamorous, and it is worth more than a homepage redesign.

  4. Ads are for the occasions, not for every night

A permanent restaurant ad budget rarely pays for itself. Christmas, Valentine, Mothering Sunday, a quiet February, a new menu: paid turned on around an occasion and pointed at the page for that occasion is where it works.

  5. The email list is the asset a platform cannot take back

A booking platform owns the relationship with your customer and rents it to you. A list you collect at the table and at the till is the same customer, reachable for nothing, and it is the only part of this that compounds.

Restaurant marketing questions, answered

What experience do you have with restaurants?

The work a restaurant needs is the work we do: a site whose job is the enquiry rather than a checkout, ads that have to pay for themselves, and search that keeps the right work coming in. What we do is the whole engine: Google Ads and Meta for the enquiries you need this month, SEO for the ones that keep arriving without a media budget behind them, and a funnel between the two that brings the cost per lead down and qualifies what reaches your team. It connects to the CRM you already run, so a lead is tracked rather than retyped, and it is built as a foundation you can scale on rather than something that breaks at three times the volume. Founder-led, 100+ builds across the UK and the US. Tell us how your bookings and covers arrive today and we will show you where the site, the ads and the search move first.

Do you only build Shopify sites?

No. Shopify is where most of our work sits because most of our clients sell products online, and a restaurant usually does not. We build on whatever fits the job. This site runs on Astro and Cloudflare, and the surfacing contractor runs on WordPress.

Can you integrate table booking?

Yes, either through an existing system like OpenTable, ResDiary or SevenRooms, or a simpler built-in form if you do not want a third party holding the relationship with your guests. The right answer depends on whether you already pay for one and how it currently performs.

Should we also list on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat?

Probably, alongside a direct route rather than instead of one. Delivery platforms bring volume and take a meaningful commission on every order; a site that can also take a direct booking or order keeps some of that margin without giving up the platform demand.

Who writes the menu and keeps allergen information current?

You do, because you are the one who knows what changed and it is your legal responsibility to get it right. We build the structure so updating a dish or an allergen note is a form your team fills in, not a request that waits for a developer.

Do you run search or paid media for restaurants?

Yes, and the map pack and Google Business Profile usually matter more here than the organic result below it. Reviews, opening hours and photos drive most of the decision before anyone reaches the website at all, so we treat that profile as part of the build rather than an afterthought. Restaurant seo done properly is mostly that profile plus the pages a diner actually checks before booking, menu, opening hours and location, rather than a blog nobody reads.

Do you work with restaurants in the US as well as the UK?

Yes. We are London-based and work with brands in both markets, and quote and invoice US clients in dollars.

How much does food photography matter, and can we shoot it ourselves?

It matters more than the copy and yes, up to a point. Daylight by a window, real plates from a real service and no filters will beat a stock library comfortably, and a phone is genuinely good enough for social. The room, the exterior and the dozen dishes on the site are worth a professional half day, because those are the images people judge you on before they have tasted anything.

Are you a restaurant web design agency, or restaurant web design companies more generally, and is there a difference?

None beyond phrasing. Restaurant web design companies, a restaurant web design agency and a restaurant design agency all describe the same kind of supplier; what varies is whether design is the whole engagement or one part of a bigger build.

How is a restaurant website design company different from a restaurant website design agency?

Mostly not. A restaurant website design company, a restaurant website agency and a restaurant website design agency are the same kind of studio described three ways; ask what they last shipped rather than take the label as a signal either way.

Do you work with a restaurant web agency in London specifically, or is a restaurant web designer based elsewhere just as good?

Elsewhere is fine, and usually better value. A restaurant web design london search mostly reflects wanting someone in the room for a launch, not a requirement; a good restaurant web designer working remotely does the same job the rest of the time, us included.

Can you remarket to past guests to fill quiet nights?

Yes, and it is usually the cheapest way to move a slow Tuesday. Somebody who has already eaten with you and enjoyed it converts on a remarketing ad far better than a cold audience, so we set that up alongside acquisition rather than only chasing new diners.
