Web design & search · Law firms & solicitors

Law firm web design that reads as trustworthy before the call.

A prospective client is comparing firms before they ever pick up the phone. The site has to answer who does the work, roughly what it costs to start, and why you rather than the firm next door.

01 Why law firms work with us

One clear door per practice area, not one page for all of them

A firm doing conveyancing, family and commercial work under one generic "services" page makes every visitor do the sorting themselves. We build and maintain a clear path per practice area, so a prospective client lands somewhere written for their actual problem rather than your firm in general.

One team for the site, the ads and the search

A law firm does not want three suppliers to referee. We build the site, run the Google and Meta ads, and do the search work behind it, so the click the ads paid for lands on a page built to convert, wired into the CRM you already run so a lead is tracked rather than retyped. Built to hold as you scale it, across the UK and the US.

See that work

The pricing page is where most firms lose the visitor

A prospective client expects at least a starting point before they will pick up the phone, and a site that hides pricing entirely reads as evasive rather than premium. We build the pricing and process information your firm is comfortable disclosing where the visitor actually looks for it.

02 How a referral survives the search that follows it

Most instructions start with somebody being recommended and then looking you up, which means the site is rarely making the first impression and almost always deciding whether the recommendation holds. Nothing here is a lead you buy from us. It is a machine you own: pages that answer who does the work and what it costs to start, search aimed at the matters you want more of, and an enquiry that arrives already sorted.

  1. The site is read after the recommendation, not before it

Somebody has already been told to call you. What they do next is look you up, and what they find either confirms the recommendation or quietly undoes it. That is a different job from persuading a stranger, and it is the one most firm sites are not built for.

  2. People instruct a person, so the person has to be findable

Clients do not instruct a firm, they instruct whoever will actually handle the matter. Fee earner pages with real experience, the kind of matters they run and how long they have run them, do more work than any amount of writing about the firm.

  3. Saying what it costs to start removes the reason people do not call

The unspoken fear is an open-ended bill. A fixed fee for the first stage, an hourly range, or simply how the first conversation works and what it costs, published, converts more of the people already on the page than anything else you could add.

  4. Search decides which matters you get more of

The head terms belong to national firms and claims farms. A matter type plus a place, or a situation described the way a client would describe it, is winnable, and it is how the mix tilts towards the work you actually want.

  5. Qualification protects the fee earner hour

The matter type, roughly what has happened, whether proceedings have started, and any deadline, asked at the enquiry, makes the first call triage rather than discovery. In a business that sells hours, that is the whole economics.

Law firm web design questions, answered

What experience do you have with law firms?

The work a law firm needs is the work we do: a site whose job is the enquiry rather than a checkout, ads that have to pay for themselves, and search that keeps the right work coming in. What we do is the whole engine: Google Ads and Meta for the enquiries you need this month, SEO for the ones that keep arriving without a media budget behind them, and a funnel between the two that brings the cost per lead down and qualifies what reaches your team. It connects to the CRM you already run, so a lead is tracked rather than retyped, and it is built as a foundation you can scale on rather than something that breaks at three times the volume. Founder-led, 100+ builds across the UK and the US. Tell us how your case enquiries arrive today and we will show you where the site, the ads and the search move first.

Do you only build Shopify sites?

No. Shopify is where most of our work sits because most of our clients sell products online, and a law firm usually does not. We build on whatever fits the job. This site runs on Astro and Cloudflare, and the surfacing contractor runs on WordPress.

Can you write our practice-area and legal content, or do we need to?

We write the web copy; the legal substance is yours. We are not solicitors, so anything that states what you will and will not do for a client, complaints procedure wording, or a claim about your regulatory standing has to come from you or your compliance adviser. We structure the page and write around what you give us.

Do you handle the transparency information the SRA requires on pricing?

We build the page structure to hold it clearly, in the format a prospective client can actually use. What gets disclosed, and in what form, is your regulatory decision to make, not ours to draft.

Do you run search for law firms as well as build the site?

Yes, that is one of the services we sell. We would scope it honestly against your practice areas and location rather than promise a number here, because legal search difficulty varies enormously by practice area and city. Law firm seo, legal seo and seo for solicitors are the same brief under three names, and which one you searched says more about your own vocabulary than about what the work involves.

Do you run Google Ads for law firms, and can they possibly pay?

We do, and they can, but legal is one of the most expensive click markets there is and it punishes a weak landing page harder than any sector we work in. The version that pays is narrow: one practice area, one location, a page that answers the actual question and asks for a call rather than a form. Broad campaigns pointed at a homepage lose money quickly and predictably.

Can clients book an initial call online?

Yes, and it lifts conversion more than most redesigns do. A person deciding whether to instruct a solicitor is often doing it out of hours and would rather pick a slot than leave a message about something difficult. It also gives you a countable action, which is what the advertising has to be judged on.

Can you get us ranking for the practice area plus our city?

That is the target and it is the winnable one. National terms in legal are contested by firms with budgets that do not resemble yours; practice area plus place is a different market and it converts better. Expect months, and expect the profile and reviews to move before the pages do.

How much does the design actually matter for a law firm?

More than in most sectors, because the thing being judged is whether you can be trusted with something serious. Clients cannot assess your legal ability from a website, so they assess everything else, and a site that looks dated or generic is read as a firm that is. That is unfair and it is also how the decision gets made.

Where do reviews and case outcomes sit, given the rules?

Carefully, and they are still worth having. Testimonials are permitted and valuable; specific outcome claims and anything that could be read as a guarantee are not, and confidentiality binds regardless of what a client is happy for you to say. We write to what your compliance officer will sign off, rather than writing it first and asking afterwards.

Do you work with firms outside the UK?

Yes. The page is written around UK practice because that is where most of these enquiries start, and the build is the same either way: the site, the tracking and the search that turn a search into a case enquiry. Legal advertising is regulated state by state in the US, so we work to the rules for your state rather than assume UK conventions transfer. That is part of the scope, not a reason to send you somewhere else.
