B2B and Wholesale
Company accounts, price lists, terms.
(opens in a new tab) Trade buyers do not shop, they reorder. Shopify B2B gives you a fast, boring, accurate ordering experience with the right prices attached to the right accounts.
The trade platforms we build and still run.
Certified, not badge-only We build Shopify stores that sell to trade buyers as well as consumers.
Read the case studiesOne store, two front doors: consumers see the public catalogue, and a signed-in buyer sees their own prices, terms and reorder path. We have built and run gated trade stores since 2022.
B2B and trade brandsHow we run a B2B project
How we set up company accounts, price lists and terms
The commercial rules come before the build: who may buy, at what price, on what terms. Then the store is built to carry them.
-
Model the trade relationship
Accounts, tiers, terms and who is allowed to do what. The commercial rules before the build.
-
Catalogue and pricing
Price lists and catalogues configured, with the rules for who sees what.
-
Build the ordering experience
The reorder and bulk paths, tested against a real order sheet.
-
Onboard the accounts
Existing trade customers migrated onto the new setup with their history intact.
-
Run it
Support, search and the paid media that brings new buyers to the form, run by the people who built it.
Who sees what
Accounts, catalogues and pricing: the rules that decide what each trade buyer sees when they sign in.
Shopify B2B agency
A catalogue scoped to every hotel that signs in
Citizen M supplies the operating stock that keeps citizenM hotels running, and since Marriott’s acquisition of citizenM, Marriott hotels too. Each hotel signs in to a catalogue scoped to what it may order, at pricing set for it.
Orders route to the local distribution serving that hotel rather than to one warehouse, and the order backend behind it was the half of the build that took the time. We build and support it.
B2B Shopify agency
A trade store where every buyer sees their own prices
Black Sand sells drinks and snacks by the forty-foot container to importers and wholesalers. They came to us in 2022 with no storefront: deals were quoted and closed in a WhatsApp thread.
We built a store where a visitor sees the brands and an approved buyer sees their own catalogue and prices, varying by tier, buyer and market. It runs on standard Shopify, gated on customer tags.
What you get
What our Shopify B2B and wholesale build includes
One store with a trade side, rather than a second store to keep in step. These are the parts a trade buyer touches.
Accounts and pricing
Company accounts
Shopify B2B company profiles with multiple buyers, locations and permissions, so a purchasing team behaves like a purchasing team rather than one shared login.
Catalogues and price lists
Customer-specific catalogues and pricing native to Shopify Plus. One store, many prices, no second theme to maintain.
At the checkout
Terms and rules
Net payment terms, purchase order numbers, minimum orders, case quantities and the approval steps that go with them.
After the first order
The reorder path
Order history, saved lists and fast bulk entry. A trade buyer placing a hundred-line order does not want a consumer checkout.
How they order
Minimums, terms and the reorder path: the rules a trade order needs and a consumer store never asks for.
Shopify wholesale agency
A cart that enforces the trade minimum itself
A container order carries its own minimum. The cart applies it directly, so a buyer under it finds out before checkout, not from a note on a price list they had to remember.
Loyalty had to fit the trade too. FCL Club runs on Smile.io and credits points once the deposit is received rather than when the order is placed, because that is how a container is paid for.
Three ways to take trade orders
An inbox, a second store, or one store with a trade side
| What the buyer needs | Email and spreadsheet | A separate wholesale store | One store with a trade side |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trade pricing | Quoted by hand | A second price list to keep in step | Set per account, shown on sign-in |
| Product data and stock | Re-keyed from the thread | Two sets to maintain | One catalogue |
| Minimums and case quantities | Checked by a person | Depends on the app | Enforced in the cart |
| Terms and PO numbers | Tracked in a spreadsheet | Depends on the setup | Captured at checkout |
| Reordering | Another email | A second login | From order history |
| Themes to maintain | None, and no store | Two | One |
How buyers get in
Applications, approval and the demand in front of them. A trade store needs buyers as much as prices.
Shopify B2B ecommerce agency
Approving a buyer and unlocking their prices, in one step
A landing page per brand and per market carries a qualifying form, down to how many containers a buyer imports a year. A buyer importing none and one importing five hundred should not get the same reply.
Each submission reaches WhatsApp, the CRM and the sales inbox, and opens a Shopify account waiting on approval. The tag applied at approval is the tag that unlocks the pricing. We run the search and paid ads in front of it too.

From start to finish, they were incredibly easy to work with. They understood the brief perfectly and delivered to a very high standard. Communication was excellent throughout, with quick and clear responses to any questions I had.

How we work with you
Trade build
A fixed scope with a launch date: accounts, catalogues, price lists, terms and the reorder path, configured against your live catalogue and shipped.

A trade platform built and supported as it grows, with the order backend and the integrations behind it. What Citizen M runs with us.

Worth a conversation
- Somebody re-keys wholesale orders every day
- Trade prices live in a spreadsheet and a memory
- Stock drifts between the store and the order sheet
- Buyers email to reorder the same list every month
Probably not this, yet
- A couple of wholesale orders a month
- Trade buyers are happy ordering by email
- Nobody internally owns the trade accounts
Where this fits
Why trade buyers give up on a B2B store built for consumers
A shopify b2b agency is not a different agency from the one that builds your direct-to-consumer store, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling a second project. It is the same platform with a different set of decisions on top: who sees which price, what a company account can do without asking, and whether a repeat order takes four taps or a phone call. We run that as one build with two front doors rather than two stores to maintain.
The search phrasing splits about evenly between b2b shopify agency and the reverse, and the buyer behind both is usually a brand that already sells to consumers and has started taking wholesale orders by email and spreadsheet. That is the moment this pays for itself. B2b ecommerce agencies that come from the enterprise side will quote you a platform migration for it; on Shopify most of it is company accounts, catalogue and price-list configuration, and a checkout that understands purchase orders and terms.
Some brands search for a shopify b2b ecommerce agency because they want the whole trade side handled as one job rather than a plugin list, and that is the right instinct. Wholesale on Shopify is company accounts, price lists, payment terms and a reorder flow, and it works best when one team configures them together so a buyer's login, their price and their terms agree with each other. If you are weighing a shopify wholesale agency against a general ecommerce one, ask who has actually configured a company account against a live catalogue, because that is where the decisions that matter get made.

Tools we have already run on our own stores
The apps around a Shopify store decide as much as the theme does, and choosing between thousands of them is most of the work. We are a Shopify Plus Partner and we integrate the tools that sit around the platform. Every one of them runs on our own two stores before it reaches a client, so the recommendation you get comes from having paid for the thing and lived with it. When a brand already runs a stack that works, we integrate with it rather than rebuilding it to suit us.
How we use themStraight answers
Do we need Shopify Plus for B2B?
Not always, and it is worth checking before anyone quotes you a migration. Company accounts, price lists and payment terms are Plus-tier features, so if your wholesale model depends on all three then yes. Plenty of brands taking wholesale orders can run on a standard plan with a gated catalogue and a well-built order form, and that is a much smaller project.
Can one store serve both our retail and trade customers?
Yes, and it is what we build by default. One catalogue, one set of product data, and a customer who sees trade pricing because of who they are logged in as rather than because they are on a different website. Two separate stores means two sets of stock, two themes to maintain and a product that gets updated in one place and not the other.
Our wholesale orders come in by email and spreadsheet. Is that a problem worth fixing?
It is the most common reason this page gets a call, and the honest test is how many hours a week it costs and how often something gets typed in wrong. If the answer is a couple of orders a month, a form is fine. If somebody is re-keying orders daily and stock is drifting out of sync, the build pays for itself on the admin time alone before you count the orders you are not taking.
