Shopify agency · Liverpool Commerce, Crafted.

We are a Shopify Plus agency working with brands across Liverpool and Merseyside. We are a UK agency with one senior team, and we work the same way wherever a brand sits: the people who build the store also run the marketing pointed at it.

See our work

Tested on our own stores first.

Before we suggest a checkout change, an offer or an ad angle to a Liverpool brand, we have run it on a store we own and paid for the result ourselves.

Our own brands, our own margin

We own and run Powerlete, which sells activewear, and Fittr Nutrition, which sells supplements, both on Shopify Plus. Their storefronts, paid media, email and subscriptions are handled by us, so the advice you get on a launch comes from stores we fund and answer for.

Run & Advise

A developer on call for the live store, and senior advice when the question is what to build next, from a one-off audit to a monthly partnership.

Shopify agency Liverpool

Your first serious Shopify build, in Liverpool.

Liverpool has a strong independent retail and emerging DTC scene, which means a lot of the work here is a first serious Shopify build rather than a replatform: brands who have proven demand through a marketplace, a social following or a shop, and now want to own the customer rather than rent the audience.

One senior UK team designs the store, writes its code and then runs the search, ads, email and testing that bring buyers to it, so launch day starts the work and nobody passes you on to a second supplier.

Cream Cornwall came to us for a build and a move off its old theme, and still works with us on consultancy.

Shopify support and maintenance

A developer on hand once the store is live.

The weeks after a first launch are when small problems surface: an app update that clashes with the theme, a discount that stacks the wrong way, a product template that needs a new field. A monthly retainer puts the developer who built your store on those, in place of a ticket queue with a stranger at the other end.

We keep Fittr Nutrition, one of our own brands, on the same arrangement, which keeps us honest about what it is worth.

Each month you get a written note of the work done and what we would tackle next.

Shopify SEO

Search for a store that has no rankings yet.

A new Shopify store starts with no organic authority, so the early SEO work is foundations: a clean site structure, product and collection data that search engines can read, and the handful of pages able to rank before anyone links to you. We also work on how AI assistants describe your brand, so a shopper who asks one gets your name back.

Black Sand began with no storefront at all and now sells worldwide. Waldo, a Swiss dive watch brand, trusts us with its SEO and paid media.

The developers who build your store make the search changes in the theme itself, so fixes ship in the store instead of sitting in a document.

Shopify developers Liverpool

Hand-written Liquid, private apps and the integrations behind them.

We write Liquid, JavaScript and theme code by hand instead of layering page builders on top. For a first store that means a theme your team can edit safely, with a bespoke build kept for the brands that genuinely need one.

Past the storefront, we write private apps for jobs no public app does well, subscription and bundle logic that survives real orders, and connections to the stock, fulfilment and customer systems you already use.

Custom code is built to outlast theme updates, and the person who wrote it stays responsible for it.

Shopify web design

How we sequence a first serious store

A first serious store is mostly a sequencing problem: what has to be right at launch, and what can wait until there is data to decide it. Getting that order wrong is what makes first builds cost twice.

Design starts from what you already know about your buyers: the marketplace reviews, the comments under your posts, the questions asked across the counter. We map what each page has to answer before any styling, then bring in your brand, photography and tone of voice.

Every template is held to a page-speed budget agreed at the start, so the store stays quick on a phone as the catalogue grows.

Shopify migration

Moving an existing store onto Shopify with its customers and rankings intact.

Some Liverpool brands arrive with a store already, on Wix, Squarespace, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or Salesforce. We move them onto Shopify or Shopify Plus with products, customer accounts and subscriptions carried across.

Migration damage clusters around launch week: URLs that change without a redirect, product handles renamed in a rush. We map every old address to its new one before the switch, and search is part of the plan from the first conversation.

Bessette moved its store, its domain and its Google Workspace email with us, and Cream Cornwall moved off its old theme.

Ecommerce agency Liverpool

Shopify Plus when the business has grown into it.

We run our own brands on Shopify Plus, so checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, Markets and B2B are features we pay for and use ourselves.

A brand opening its first serious store does not need them at launch, and we say so plainly. The case for Plus arrives with volume, wholesale buyers or a checkout that has become the bottleneck.

After launch the same team can stay on as a monthly retainer across the build, search, paid media, email and CRO, with one senior contact who knows the store.

Klaviyo email and SMS

The customer list a marketplace never gave you.

Selling through a marketplace means the customer belongs to the platform. Your own store changes that from the first order, and Klaviyo flows turn those buyers into repeat customers: a welcome series, browse and cart reminders, post-purchase follow-ups, and segments that treat a loyal buyer differently from a first-timer.

Every flow is built in Klaviyo and trialled on Powerlete, our own activewear brand, before a client pays for it. SMS goes in only where a text earns its place.

Flows get reviewed on a set schedule, so nothing keeps sending copy that went stale months ago.

Selling overseas

Selling beyond the UK from one Shopify store.

Going international is a set of decisions before it is a build: one store with Shopify Markets or several, how prices and currencies display, what needs translating, and which products can ship where at a sensible cost.

We configure Markets, local pricing, duties and payment options so a buyer abroad sees a store that feels local to them. Black Sand had no storefront at first and now sells worldwide.

If a separate storefront for one region earns its cost, Shopify Plus lets you run it as an expansion store under the same organisation.

Shopify CRO

Conversion testing once the store has traffic to learn from.

A new store needs visitors before a test means anything, so CRO starts once paid and organic traffic are flowing. From there we study session recordings, heatmaps, order data and your competitors, and rank each test by the revenue it could move.

WUKA hired us for a store build and then a programme of conversion testing on a product that needs explaining before it sells. Every method we use has been run on our own brands first.

How a project runs

Five stages, run by the people you meet on day one.

Nothing is handed from a design studio to a separate developer halfway through. Whoever scopes your store also builds it and stays on to grow it.

Scope. We look at where you sell now, what the numbers say and who is already buying, then agree what has to be right at launch and what can wait.

Design. Page templates are drawn to a speed budget, around the questions your buyers ask before they commit.

Build. The developers who scoped it write it, with payments, shipping rates, VAT and any stock or fulfilment connections set up properly.

Launch. Tracking, structured data and redirects are checked before the switch, so paid and organic traffic are measured from the first visit.

Grow. Ads, testing, email and support continue with the same team once the store is live.

Ways to work with us

A first build, a monthly team, or advice on call.

Brands pick one of three arrangements and move between them as they grow. In each one you deal directly with the people doing the work.

Project build. An agreed scope and a launch date: a first Shopify store, or a move from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or Salesforce, taken from design through to go-live.

Growth retainer. A monthly team for design, development, CRO, paid media and email. Poppy Elder and Nour Hammour work with us this way.

Consultancy partner. Your own team does the building while we advise on the platform, the channels and the next market, and step in where it helps. Cream Cornwall has worked with us like this since its build.

Why Liverpool brands work with us

The people on your first call are the people who design, build and market the store. No account manager relays messages between you, and every tactic we recommend has already run on a brand we own.

Our story

Partners

The apps we run on our own brands.

A first store needs a small, sound set of apps more than a long list of them. We work with Klaviyo for email and SMS, Gorgias for customer service, Loop for subscriptions and returns, Junip for reviews, Upstack Data for attribution and DataFeedWatch for product feeds, and every one of them runs on our own stores before we put it on yours. Where your existing tools already do the job, we connect to them.

How we use them

Questions Liverpool brands ask us

Do you have an office in Liverpool?

No. We have one office and it is not in Liverpool. We work with Merseyside brands remotely and come to meet you when a project needs it, at kickoff and before launch.

We sell through a marketplace and want our own store. Where do we start?

With whether you have demand you control. A store gives you ownership, not traffic, so the useful first question is whether you have an email list, a following or repeat customers to launch to. If you do, this is a straightforward first build. If you do not, we would tell you to build that first.

How much does a first Shopify build cost?

It depends on scope, and anyone quoting a firm number before understanding yours is guessing. What we can say is that a focused first build and a large Shopify Plus project are different orders of magnitude, and we will tell you which one you actually need rather than which one we would rather sell.

Can you handle the marketing as well as the build?

Yes. Meta, Google and TikTok ads, CRO and lead generation run out of the same team as the build, so the store and the traffic are never designed by two suppliers in separate conversations.

Do you work on Shopify Plus in Liverpool?

Yes, though a lot of the work here is a first serious build rather than a replatform, and for that Plus is the wrong first spend. A brand arriving from a marketplace or a social following needs the store to convert before it needs an editable checkout. We would rather get you there on standard Shopify and move you up when the constraint is real, which is a conversation we have had with brands who expected us to sell the upgrade.

Do you offer SEO in Liverpool, or only Shopify development?

Both, and for a first serious store the order matters more than the label. A brand launching its first proper site has no organic authority at all, so seo liverpool work starts as groundwork rather than growth: structure, product data and the pages that can rank before anyone links to you. Searches for seo agency liverpool, seo services liverpool, liverpool seo, liverpool seo agency and seo company liverpool all land on the same team here, as do seo agency in liverpool, seo company in liverpool, liverpool seo services and seo consultant liverpool. If you are a shop with a physical trade, local seo liverpool and local seo services liverpool are a separate and faster win, because the profile and reviews move before the site does.

Is there a difference between the various ways people search for Liverpool SEO?

Not to us. Seo services in liverpool, liverpool seo company, seo agencies liverpool, seo in liverpool, seo companies liverpool, search engine optimisation liverpool and seo marketing liverpool are the same enquiry typed seven ways, and we treat them identically. What does change the answer is whether you already have traffic worth protecting or are starting from nothing, which is the first thing we ask rather than the last.

Can you run paid advertising for a Liverpool brand as well?

Yes, and for a new store we put it first. Ppc liverpool and pay per click liverpool buy you conversion data in weeks that SEO takes months to produce, which is why a ppc agency liverpool conversation and an SEO one are really the same budgeting question asked at different speeds. Whether you searched google ads agency liverpool, liverpool ppc agency, ppc management liverpool, ppc marketing liverpool or paid search agency liverpool, the setup is the same: tracking verified before spend changes. Beyond search, a digital marketing agency liverpool brief or a content marketing agency liverpool brief means the same combined remit to us, and ecommerce liverpool and ecommerce agency liverpool enquiries start with the store itself. The shopify developers Liverpool brands work with on a first build are the same team running the search and paid side afterwards.

We sell wholesale to other shops as well as direct to customers. Can one Shopify store do both?

Yes. Black Sand had no storefront when it came to us and now sells worldwide, and we built it a trade store where each approved buyer signs in to see their own catalogue and their own prices. Retail shoppers never see the trade terms, and wholesale orders come through the same store as everything else.

We have a physical shop in Liverpool. Does an online store compete with it?

Not if it is planned around what the shop already does well. Cream Cornwall runs three shops alongside its Shopify store, and we built that store and moved it off its old theme before staying on as consultants. The online store should carry the same range, voice and customers as the counter, so each one sends buyers to the other.

How long does a first Shopify build take?

It depends on what the store has to do at launch. We have shipped a bespoke build in seven days, for a fashion show. Larger Shopify Plus builds run eight to sixteen weeks, in two-week stages on a staging theme you can see as it develops. Once the scope is agreed, we give you a date and plan the work back from it.

Will our own team be able to run the store after launch?

Yes. A first store should let your team add products, change a banner or publish a page without calling a developer, and we build the theme with that in mind. When you do want help, a monthly support retainer puts the developers who wrote the code on hand.

Which apps does a first Shopify store need?

Fewer than you would expect. Each app adds a monthly bill and code the store has to load, so we start with the ones a launch depends on, such as Klaviyo for email and Junip for reviews, and add Gorgias or Loop when order volume justifies them. Every app we recommend runs on our own stores first.
