Shopify agency · Leeds Commerce, Crafted.

We are a Shopify Plus agency working with brands across Leeds and West Yorkshire. We are a UK agency with one senior team, we say so up front, and a Leeds project is run by the same people who would run any other: the ones you meet are the ones who build it.

Two of the brands we work on belong to us, so a Leeds retailer gets advice that has already cost us money to learn.

Powerlete sells activewear and Fittr Nutrition sells supplements, both on Shopify Plus and both run by us day to day. Checkout changes, bundles and new channels are tried on those two stores, against their own numbers, before a client hears about them.

Run & Advise

A live store looked after month by month, and senior advice for the calls that sit above a support ticket, from a one-off audit to a standing partnership.

Shopify agency Leeds

Shopify in Leeds, for brands running a shop floor and a website at once.

Leeds has a retail and multi-channel heritage that shows up in the briefs: brands here are more likely to be running physical stores alongside the website, or moving off a legacy system that was built for the shop floor first. That makes Shopify POS and migration a bigger part of the conversation here than it is in a purely DTC market.

One senior UK team handles the whole job for these retailers: design, development, point of sale, search, paid media, email and testing, all in-house and none of it subcontracted.

Cream Cornwall is the closest match on our books: three shops and a website on one Shopify inventory, built and migrated with us and advised by us since.

Shopify support

Monthly support from people who know the build.

For stores past the point of a helpdesk queue: theme and app updates checked on a copy before they go live, shop and online stock kept in step, and a senior developer to call when something stops working.

Our own supplement brand, Fittr Nutrition, is supported on exactly this plan, so we feel it first when the plan falls short.

A short written log arrives at the end of each month: what we changed and what comes next.

Shopify SEO Leeds

Organic search for retailers with a catalogue to rank.

We handle technical audits, keyword research, collection structure and content on Shopify and Shopify Plus, with the extra care a large retail catalogue needs around filters, variants and duplicate pages. The same work covers the AI assistants shoppers now ask, so their answers point to your store.

Waldo, the Swiss dive watch brand, has us on both its SEO and its paid media. Our two brands get identical treatment, so every technique is proved on our own traffic before yours.

The developers who built the theme make the fixes, so a recommendation ends up live on the site instead of in a slide deck.

Shopify developers Leeds

Custom code for stores that also run tills.

We write Liquid, JavaScript and theme architecture ourselves instead of layering page builders on top. Some brands need a bespoke theme and some need a sound one extended well, and we will tell you which.

Beyond the theme we write private apps for jobs no public app covers, and link Shopify to the ERP, EPOS, 3PL or CRM your shops and warehouse already depend on.

Our code keeps working through theme updates, and its author stays responsible for it.

Shopify web design

Store design for brands that also run a shop floor.

Where a store and a shop floor share stock, the build stops being a website project and becomes an operations one. That is a different conversation, and it is the one worth having first.

We start from your analytics, your competitors and the pages where customers drop out, then wireframe what each template has to do before any styling. Brand, photography and tone of voice go onto a structure already planned to sell.

Click and collect, stock by location and a store finder are drawn into the journey from the first wireframe.

Shopify migration

Off the old system and onto Shopify, with the history intact.

Shopify and Shopify Plus are where we take brands from WooCommerce, Magento, Salesforce, BigCommerce, Squarespace and Wix, and from retail systems built around the till. For a retailer the hard part is the data: product records, stock by location and customer history shaped for a shop counter rather than a catalogue.

Most of the damage in a replatform comes from a redirect map left until launch week, or from product URLs that changed without anyone checking. Search is part of the plan from week one, with a destination agreed for every old URL before the switch.

Bessette moved its store, domain and Google Workspace email to us in one project, and Cream Cornwall left its old theme behind in its build.

Ecommerce agency Leeds

Shopify Plus for multi-location retail, when the numbers call for it.

Our own brands pay for Shopify Plus, so we have used B2B, Markets, Shopify Functions and checkout extensibility on our own stores before any of them goes into a proposal.

For a retailer with a few shops, standard Shopify with POS covers most of it, and we will say so. Plus earns its fee when several locations, trade customers or checkout rules become the constraint.

After launch the same team can stay on as a retainer across build, search, paid, email and testing, with a senior contact who knows the store and the shops behind it.

Klaviyo email and SMS

Bringing customers back, online and in the shop.

Abandoned cart, browse and welcome flows that run by themselves, segments that tell a first order from a tenth, and in-store customers brought into the same list where they have agreed to hear from you. SMS is kept for messages worth the interruption.

We build in Klaviyo and trial new flows on Powerlete, our activewear brand, before a client is asked to pay for them.

Every flow is reviewed on a schedule, since an automation nobody has checked in a year keeps sending all the same.

Selling overseas

Selling beyond Yorkshire without splitting the business in two.

The first overseas decisions are commercial: a single store on Markets or one per region, how currency and pricing behave, which pages need translating, and which lines can ship where. For a retailer it also means deciding which stock is held back for the shops.

Markets, duties, local prices and payment methods are then set up so each country sees a store that feels local. Black Sand began with no storefront and now takes orders worldwide.

If a separate storefront for another country pays its way, Plus lets it run as an expansion store under one organisation.

WUKA

Client · build, conversion testing and ongoing support

Shopify CRO

Conversion testing for shoppers who browse online and buy in store.

We look at your category and competitors, study session recordings, heatmaps and order data, and rank tests by the revenue at stake. For a retailer with shops, the first job is working out which online visits were research for an in-store purchase, so no test is judged on a number that leaves the shop out.

WUKA brought us in to build its store and then to test pages for a product customers need explained before they buy. Every test method we use has run on our own brands first.

How a project runs

Five stages, with the same people from the first call to growth.

There is no point where a designer hands over to another firm's developer, which is where budget and detail leak away. Whoever scopes the project ships it.

Scope. We begin with your current store, your shops and the systems between them, and agree what this stage must deliver before any design starts.

Design. Templates are drawn to a performance budget fixed at the outset, with room for stock by location, collection options and the details a retail customer checks before setting off.

Build. The developers who scoped it build it, wired into your POS, ERP, 3PL and CRM, with VAT, bundles and customer accounts set up properly.

Launch. Redirects, structured data and stock sync are tested before the switch, so rankings and the shop floor carry on without a gap.

Grow. Testing, paid media, email and support continue with the same team once the store is live.

Ways to work with us

A project, a monthly team or senior advice on call.

There are three ways to start, and brands move between them as they grow. Whichever you choose, the people on your calls are the people doing the work.

Project build. A fixed scope and a launch date for a new Shopify store, or a move from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Salesforce or an older retail system, designed, built and launched by us.

Growth retainer. A standing monthly team for design, development, testing, paid media and email. Poppy Elder and Nour Hammour are both on this arrangement.

Consultancy partner. Your own team builds, and we give senior advice on the platform, channels and new markets, joining in where it helps. Cream Cornwall works with us on this basis.

Why Leeds brands work with us

You speak to someone who does the work rather than someone who passes messages on. After launch, the same builders keep running its search, ads and retention, and every tactic has been tried on our own brands before it reaches yours.

Our story

Partners

Apps we pay for on our own stores first.

Choosing apps well is a large share of good Shopify work. We connect the tools that sit around the platform. Among them: Gorgias for customer service, Klaviyo for email and SMS, Junip for reviews, Loop for subscriptions and returns, DataFeedWatch for product feeds and Upstack Data for attribution. We run every one of them on our own stores before suggesting it, so the recommendation comes from our own bills and not from a referral fee. Where your current stack works, including the systems your shops use, we connect to it.

How we use them

Questions Leeds brands ask us

Do you have an office in Leeds?

No. We have one office and it is not in Leeds, and we would rather tell you that than register a virtual address here to look local. We work with Yorkshire brands remotely and travel to you where a project needs it.

Do you work with retailers who sell in store as well as online?

Yes, and it is one of the more common briefs we get from this part of the country. Shopify POS ties the shop floor and the website into one inventory and one customer record. Cream Cornwall, one of our clients, runs three shops on it.

We are on an old system built around our shop. Can you move us?

Yes. Legacy retail systems are one of the harder migrations because the data model was designed for tills rather than for a catalogue, but it is a solved problem. Magento is the one we are asked about most from this part of the country, and the direction is worth stating plainly: we move brands off Magento onto Shopify, and we do not build or maintain Magento itself. The part that needs care either way is the redirect map, since these sites carry years of indexed pages, and the website migration services Leeds brands come to us for live or die on it.

Are you a Shopify agency Yorkshire brands can use, or only Leeds?

All of Yorkshire. Leeds carries the most search volume so it is the page you have landed on, but we work with brands across the county on the same terms. Nothing about how a Shopify project runs depends on which part of Yorkshire you are in. People search this in a few ways, and shopify leeds, shopify website leeds and shopify website design leeds all land in the same place: a brand in the city wanting a store built or rebuilt by people who have done it before. Searches for leeds shopify agencies, for shopify experts leeds and for shopify developers leeds land here too, and the answer is the same for all of them.

Is Elms a fit for a smaller Leeds brand?

Yes. We work with brands at every stage, and the audit and consultancy services exist specifically for businesses that want senior input without committing to a full build or a retainer.

Shopify design, Shopify development, ecommerce agency: which of those do we actually need?

All of them, from one team, which is why the labels are less useful than they look. Shopify design Leeds and shopify development agency Leeds describe the same engagement from two ends: somebody has to decide what the store should do, and somebody has to build it so it still works at three times the traffic. Ecommerce development Leeds is that job again with the shop floor counted in, and a shopify website agency Leeds brands keep is one that stayed after launch. The reason an ecommerce agency Leeds businesses can rely on has to cover the whole of it is that the handover between a designer and a developer is where most timelines are lost. The spelling varies too, and an e-commerce agency Leeds brands shortlist is the same brief written with a hyphen.

Do you work on Shopify Plus in Leeds?

Yes, and shopify plus leeds enquiries arrive for one of two reasons: the brand is running shops alongside the website, or coming off a legacy system built for the shop floor. That is a multi-location and stock-accuracy problem before it is a design one, and Plus is where POS Pro, the checkout and the store-to-store logic stop being fixed. We will tell you if the honest answer is a better integration on your current plan instead.

Do you do conversion work for Leeds brands, not just the build?

Yes, and running a shop floor alongside the website changes what the numbers mean. A cro agency leeds brief is complicated by customers who browse online and buy in person, so the site's conversion rate understates it, and optimising blindly against that number can make the shop worse. Conversion rate optimisation leeds work here starts by separating those journeys before touching a page, and a conversion rate optimisation agency leeds pitch that skips that step is guessing. Alongside it we run paid: a google ads agency leeds search reaches this team, and a performance marketing agency leeds brief means the same thing at a larger budget. Ecommerce leeds and e-commerce agency leeds enquiries start with the platform question instead. A shopify plus agency Leeds retailers brief for POS and multi-location work is the same team answering this page.

Can our shops and our website share one stock count?

Yes. Shopify POS holds stock by location, so a sale at the till comes off the same count the website reads, and the website can show what is on the shelf in each shop. The real work is setting the locations up properly and deciding which stock the website is allowed to sell, and we settle those rules with you before anything is built.

How long does a Shopify build take for a retailer with shops?

It depends on scope, and the honest range is wide. One bespoke build went live in seven days, in time for a fashion show, and larger Shopify Plus builds run eight to sixteen weeks. Shopify development Leeds retailers bring us with tills, stock sync and a legacy system in scope has more to connect, so we price it against that range once we have seen the systems involved. Work runs in two-week stages on a staging theme, so you see the store take shape before it goes live.

We sell to trade customers as well as the public. Can Shopify handle both?

Yes. For Black Sand we built a trade store in which each approved buyer sees their own catalogue and prices, while the public store carries on selling as normal. Whether that runs inside one store or beside it depends on your plan and your order volumes, and we will set out both options with the costs before you choose.

Will you look after search once the store is live?

Yes. The Shopify SEO Leeds retailers ask us for covers the technical side, the collection structure and the content, and it carries on after launch with the developers who built the theme. For a brand with shops, each location also needs a clear and consistent listing, so people searching nearby find the right address and opening hours.
