Best Shopify agencies for Plus brands
Published
We are one of the six agencies on this page and we have put ourselves first, so read it knowing both of those things. The order is not a quality ranking, it is a fit ranking, and it is ranked for one specific reader: a brand at Plus scale that wants the senior people who sold the work to be the people who do it. Rank for a different reader and this list reorders. Every agency here also carries a plain statement of what it does better than we do, because a list without that is an advert.
How this list was put together
Every agency here currently ranks on the first or second page in the United States for Shopify Plus agency terms, checked on 4 August 2026. That is the only entry criterion, and it is a deliberately mechanical one: it means the list is not our opinion of who is good, which we are not well placed to give about our own competitors.
Each description is taken from that agency’s own homepage, title and meta description on the same date. We have not audited anyone’s code or spoken to their clients, so nothing here is an assessment of what any of them actually delivers.
The order is by fit for the reader described at the top, not by revenue, headcount or awards. Concretely it ranks one thing: how directly you are likely to work with senior people, judged from each agency’s own stated scale and structure. That is a rough proxy and worth treating as one. It favours senior, founder-led teams, so the largest and most process-heavy agencies here sit lower down, which is a consequence of the criterion rather than a judgement on their work. Several of them would be the better call if your brief wants a fifty-person bench and formal process rather than direct access to seniors, and where that is true their entry says so.

Elms Agency
London, working across the US and the UK
In their own words. Founder-led, 100+ builds since 2018, and we run our own DTC brands on Shopify with our own money.
Who it suits. Brands who want the senior people who sold the work to be the ones doing it, and who want performance claims they can re-run themselves.
Where they beat us. Published third-party awards, and the specialist bench depth that comes with a larger team, where several agencies here have more behind them than we do. What we offer instead is that our own stores are public and our own site’s Core Web Vitals can be re-run by anyone, so you can check the claims before you speak to us.
What we do. Shopify Plus development , migrations , B2B and wholesale , internationalisation , app development , integrations , conversion rate optimisation , maintenance and support . The full list is on our services, and the work itself is on our portfolio.
Eastside Co
UK
In their own words. Shopify Platinum Partner Agency. Their site claims fifteen years and more than fifty experts.
Who it suits. Brands that want a large bench and formal process behind a Plus build, and who would rather have a department than a founder.
Where they beat us. Scale, straightforwardly. Fifty-plus people covers specialisms we do not staff, and fifteen years is more Plus history than we have.
Swanky
UK, Australia and France
In their own words. Shopify Platinum Partner, describing itself as building and growing exceptional Shopify stores for international brands.
Who it suits. Brands selling across several regions who want working hours in more than one of them.
Where they beat us. Timezone and territory coverage. Three offices across three countries is something we cannot match from London, and it matters if your team is split.
Charle
London
In their own words. Describes itself as a leading Shopify Partner and ecommerce web design agency, with a heavy focus on design and organic growth.
Who it suits. Brands who want design-led work backed by a large published body of ecommerce research.
Where they beat us. Authority and reach. Their published library and the links it has earned are years ahead of ours, and that shows up in what they rank for.
We Make Websites
London
In their own words. A Shopify Plus agency positioning itself as the Shopify agency for international brands.
Who it suits. Established brands running multi-market Shopify Plus who want an agency used to that shape of problem.
Where they beat us. International brand experience at a level our client list does not yet reach.
blubolt
London and Bath
In their own words. Established 2006. Describes itself as designing, developing, optimising and marketing Shopify Plus solutions.
Who it suits. Brands who value a long, continuous trading history in ecommerce over a newer specialist.
Where they beat us. Longevity. Trading since 2006 is a track record we do not have and cannot manufacture.
What actually separates them
Almost nothing you can see from the outside. Every agency on this list is a Shopify partner of some tier, every one of them can build a Plus store, and every one of them has a portfolio that looks good, because portfolios are chosen by the agency. The differences that matter show up after you have signed.
Three questions get at them faster than any list can. Who specifically will do the work, by name, and are they in the room when you are being sold to. What happens when something breaks outside working hours, and who picks it up. And can you check any performance claim yourself, on a live URL, rather than taking a case study at its word.
We wrote a longer version of that in how to choose a Shopify agency, and a companion piece on boutique versus big agencies that argues the case for the larger firms on this page as fairly as we could manage. If your build is not specifically Plus-scale, see top 10 Shopify agencies for the wider field.
What Shopify Plus actually buys you
Plus is the enterprise tier of the same platform, not a different product. The store you already know is still underneath it, which is why a migration from standard Shopify onto Plus is a commercial decision far more than a technical one. What the money buys is a handful of things that are genuinely hard to work around lower down.
Checkout customisation is the big one and the honest reason most brands move. Below Plus the checkout is close to fixed; on Plus you can change how it behaves, which is where a real conversion difference lives. Beyond that: higher API limits, which matter once integrations get chatty; native B2B alongside your direct-to-consumer store rather than bolted on; multiple storefronts under one account for multi-market selling; and scripts and functions for pricing and promotion logic that apps otherwise approximate badly.
What it does not buy is speed, taste or traffic. A Plus store built carelessly is a slow store with a bigger bill, and the plan has no opinion about your merchandising. That is worth saying plainly, because the tier is often sold as though it were an upgrade to the work rather than to the platform's ceiling.
Whether Plus is worth it yet, honestly
The cost only makes sense at a specific point, and plenty of brands move before they reach it. The trigger is not revenue on its own. It is whether you are hitting something the lower tiers genuinely cannot do.
Four signals suggest yes. You need the checkout to behave differently from the default and have exhausted what apps can reach. You are selling into several markets with different pricing, tax and domain requirements. You are running wholesale or B2B alongside retail and maintaining two systems to do it. Or your order volume and integration traffic are pushing against API limits, which shows up as sync delays rather than as an error message.
If none of those is true, the honest answer is that Plus is headroom you are paying for and not using, and the same money spent on conversion work or search will do more. Any agency on this page can build you a Plus store. The better test is whether one will tell you not to yet. Our own longer version of that argument is on Shopify vs Shopify Plus.
What a Plus build costs, and how long it takes
Two numbers, and they are separate: what Shopify charges for the plan, and what an agency charges to build on it. The plan is a published figure that changes, so we keep it on Shopify pricing rather than typing it here where it would go stale quietly.
The build is the larger number for most brands in year one. A Plus build with real checkout work, several integrations and a migration behind it runs into the tens of thousands and upwards, and the range is wide because the word covers very different projects. What moves it is rarely the design: it is how many systems have to talk to each other, how much existing data has to survive, and whether the checkout work is configuration or genuine development.
On time, a Plus build is commonly three to six months, and a migration carrying years of orders sits at the longer end. Ask for the timeline split into discovery, build and launch, and ask specifically what happens in the two weeks after go-live, because that is when integration problems surface and it is the period most proposals leave out entirely.
Migrating onto Plus, from standard Shopify or elsewhere
Two very different projects share one word here. Moving from standard Shopify to Plus is an upgrade in place: the same admin, the same data, mostly a question of what you now switch on. Moving from Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a bespoke platform is a genuine migration, and it is the one that carries risk.
On the second kind, the same unglamorous things decide it. Product data and variants have to map onto Shopify's model, which is not always a clean fit. Customer accounts and order history have to survive. Subscriptions, if you have them, rarely transfer without a rebuild of the billing relationship. And the URL redirects have to be right, or the search visibility you already own goes with the old platform.
We keep SEO migrations separate from the migration itself for that last reason: they are different jobs, and the second one does not happen for free because the first one did. If you are weighing the platform decision rather than the agency one, Shopify Plus versus Salesforce Commerce Cloud is the comparison most enterprise brands are actually making.
Running B2B or wholesale alongside retail
This is one of the clearest reasons to be on Plus, and one of the easiest to underestimate. B2B on Shopify is native at this tier: company accounts, per-customer price lists, payment terms and a separate catalogue, all on the same store rather than a second system someone has to keep in step.
Where it gets involved is the part that is not the storefront. Wholesale customers expect account-specific pricing, order minimums and often a purchase-order flow, and most brands already run some of that in an ERP. So the real question for any agency on this page is not whether they can turn B2B on, which they all can. It is whether they have integrated it with the system that already holds your trade pricing. Ours is B2B and wholesale.
Selling into several markets at once
Internationalisation is where Plus earns its keep for a lot of brands, and where the work is least visible from a portfolio. Multiple storefronts, market-specific pricing, local payment methods, tax handled per region and a domain structure search engines can read as deliberate rather than duplicated.
The trap is treating it as translation. Language is the easy half. The hard half is that pricing, tax, shipping and returns all differ by market, and getting the domain and hreflang structure wrong quietly splits your search authority across versions of the same page. Ask any agency here what they would do with domains before you ask them anything about translation. Ours is internationalisation.
Support at Plus scale, and what happens after launch
The least glamorous question on this page is the one most likely to matter to you in eighteen months: who picks up the phone when the checkout breaks on a Friday. At Plus scale that question has teeth, because the cost of an hour of downtime is real and calculable.
The answers that separate a genuine support offer from a line on a pricing page are dull and effective. What is the response time, in writing. Does it cover out of hours, and what does out of hours mean in your timezone rather than theirs. Is there a named person or a shared inbox. What happens to unused hours. And who is on call when the person who built your store is on holiday. Ours is Shopify maintenance and support.
If you are a US brand hiring from the UK
Four of the agencies here are British and currently rank on page one in the United States, so the arrangement clearly works. The things worth asking about are practical rather than philosophical: how much of your working day overlaps with theirs, whether they quote and invoice in dollars, and whether they have handled US sales tax, shipping and returns on Shopify before rather than for the first time on your build.
Our own answer to those is on our US page, and the Shopify Plus work behind it is on Shopify Plus development.
Questions people ask
- Can you trust a list of agencies written by an agency?
- Judge it on two things. First, whether the basis for the order is stated, because an order without a stated basis is just a preference dressed as research. Ours ranks fit for one named reader and says so at the top. Second, whether it tells you where the others are better, which is the part an advert leaves out: every agency here carries a plain statement of what it does better than we do. If you think we have the balance wrong, those concessions are the part to check.
- What is the difference between a Shopify Partner and a Shopify Plus Partner?
- Partner is the open programme any agency can join. Plus Partner is a narrower tier Shopify grants to agencies with a track record on Plus, and Platinum sits above it. It is a real signal of Plus experience, though it says nothing about whether senior people will work on your build.
- Does agency size matter for a Shopify Plus build?
- It changes what you get rather than how good it is. A fifty-person agency carries specialist benches and formal process, which genuinely helps on complex multi-market builds. A small senior team means the people who sold the work do it. Pick for the shape of your project, not for the headcount.
- Should a US brand hire a UK Shopify agency?
- It is common and it works, and four UK agencies currently rank on page one in the US for Shopify Plus terms. The practical questions are timezone overlap, whether they quote and invoice in dollars, and whether they have handled US sales tax and shipping before. Ask all three.
- How is this different from a general 'best Shopify agency' list?
- Scope. Best shopify plus agencies specifically means agencies with real Plus-scale work behind them, not just any best shopify agency doing standard Shopify builds. Top shopify plus agencies and this list are the same six for that reason; a general shopify agency list would include names that have never touched Plus.
- What is the best Shopify agency?
- There is no single answer, and a list that names one without saying who it is best for is guessing. The best Shopify agency for you is one that has already built a store like yours, at your size, and will put senior people on the work. This list compares six for brands on Shopify Plus and states that basis at the top. For a smaller standard Shopify build the shortlist would change.
- What is the best Shopify Plus agency for a B2B migration?
- The one that has already built B2B on Plus and can show you the live store. B2B on Shopify Plus means company accounts, customer-specific price lists, payment terms and quantity rules, and a migration has to carry each of those across as well as the catalogue. Ask every agency on your shortlist for a B2B store it migrated and what happened to its customer-specific pricing on the way over, because an agency that cannot answer the second question has not really done the first.
