Shopify agency · Edinburgh Commerce, Crafted.
We are a Shopify Plus agency working with brands across Edinburgh and the Lothians, from one UK team based outside the city. What decides a Shopify project is whether the people building it are senior and available, and a matching postcode tells you neither.

Stores in the ledger
See our Shopify Partner Directory profile. Powerlete and Fittr Nutrition
Powerlete sells activewear and Fittr Nutrition sells supplements, both on Shopify Plus and both run by us day to day. Apps, flows and page changes go live there before they reach a client store, so what we recommend is something we have already lived with.

Run & Advise
A developer on retainer for the live store, and senior advice when the question is a market, a platform or a season rather than a bug.
Shopify agency Edinburgh
Shopify in Edinburgh, built for premium products and international buyers.
Edinburgh skews towards premium and giftable products, and towards brands with a genuine export market: whisky, cashmere, food and drink, and anything a visitor discovers in the city and then wants shipped home. That makes international selling, duties and multi-currency a first-order build question rather than a phase two.
The store is designed, built and marketed by one senior UK team, and the people on your first call are the ones who write the code and run the campaigns.
Cream Cornwall hired us for a build and a move off its old theme, and has used us for consultancy ever since.
Shopify support and maintenance
A developer who knows the store before the busy weeks start.
A monthly retainer covers the jobs that decide whether a peak goes well: app and theme updates tested away from the live checkout, load checked ahead of a traffic spike, and a senior developer to call when an order flow fails.
Powerlete and Fittr Nutrition, our own stores, depend on the same kind of care, so we have learned which updates break things and which can wait.
Each month closes with a written note of the work done and the next thing worth fixing.
Shopify SEO
Search built for buyers in more than one country.
Market-by-market search work on Shopify and Shopify Plus: audits, keyword research, content and structure, planned for a brand whose buyers sit in several countries. AI assistants get the same attention as Google, so your brand can appear in the answer when a shopper asks one what to buy.
Waldo, the Swiss dive watch brand, trusts us with both its SEO and its paid media. Black Sand started without a storefront and now sells worldwide.
The team that built the store makes the fixes in the theme itself, so a recommendation ships rather than sitting in a report.
Shopify developers Edinburgh
Hand-written themes, private apps and integrations.
Our developers work in Liquid and JavaScript directly, with no page builder layered on top. Some brands need a bespoke theme and others need a sound one extended well, and we will tell you which applies to yours.
Behind the storefront we write private apps for workflows no public app covers, gift and bundle logic, delivery-date rules, and connections to the ERP, 3PL and CRM you already use.
Custom code is built to survive theme updates and stays with the developer who wrote it.
Shopify web design
Built for the weeks that carry the year.
A store that does much of its year in a few weeks has to be built for that window: it needs to hold under a spike, and your team needs to change merchandising without booking a developer.
Design starts from your analytics, your competitors and the pages where shoppers leave. Wireframes fix what each template has to do, then photography, typography and tone go onto a layout already shaped to sell a premium product.
Every template carries a performance budget agreed at the start, so a rich gift page still loads fast on a phone abroad.
Shopify migration
Changing platform without losing the orders or the rankings.
Brands come to Shopify and Shopify Plus with us from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Salesforce. For a brand selling abroad, the international setup has to arrive intact as well: currencies, tax settings and country domains alongside the products and customers.
Timing matters as much as method. A move planned to land after the busy season, with every old URL mapped to a new one before launch, protects both the peak and the search traffic.
Bessette brought its store, domain and Google Workspace email over with us, and Cream Cornwall left its old theme behind.
Ecommerce agency Edinburgh
Shopify Plus, when the export numbers call for it.
Powerlete and Fittr Nutrition both run on Shopify Plus, so we have paid for Markets, checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions and B2B before advising anyone to.
A brand selling mainly inside the UK does not need Plus yet, and we will say so. Several currencies, duties and delivery promises across countries are where it starts to pay.
After launch the same team can stay on across build, search, paid media, email and testing, with a senior contact who already knows the store.
Klaviyo email and SMS
Turning a visit into a customer who reorders from home.
Welcome, browse and abandoned-cart flows, reminders timed to how long a product lasts, and segments that separate a gift buyer from someone buying for themselves. SMS goes out only when a message deserves the interruption.
Klaviyo runs on our own stores first, so a new flow has been through our customers before it reaches yours. Knack Snacks was built subscription-first, with the delivery frequency chosen on the product page.
Flows get reviewed on a set schedule, since an automation nobody has checked in a year keeps sending all the same.
Selling overseas
Shipping an Edinburgh product to the rest of the world.
The first work is a set of choices: a single store running Markets or separate stores per region, how each currency rounds, which pages need translating, and which products can realistically be sent where. Food and drink brands also have labels and shelf life to account for.
Markets, local pricing, duties and payment methods are configured so the store reads as local in each country. Black Sand went from no storefront to selling worldwide, and we built its trade store so each approved buyer sees their own catalogue and prices.
When a separate storefront earns its place, Shopify Plus expansion stores keep it inside the same organisation.
WUKA
Client · build, conversion testing and ongoing support
Shopify CRO
Testing the pages that have to explain a premium price.
The testing roadmap comes from evidence: category and competitor review, session recordings, heatmaps and the order data already in your store, ranked by the revenue each test could shift. With a premium product the first question is whether the page justifies the price before the buyer reaches the button.
WUKA had its store built by us and then ran a programme of conversion tests with us, on a product people need explained before they buy. The same method runs on our own brands.
How a project runs
One team from the first call to the next season.
Nothing is handed from a design studio to a separate developer, and that handover is where budget and detail go missing. Whoever scopes the project stays on it until it ships.
Scope. We read your store, its numbers and its markets, and agree what the next stage must deliver before anything is drawn.
Design. Every layout works inside a page-weight limit, with room for provenance, gift options and delivery information that keeps the product in view.
Build. Markets, duties, bundles and VAT are configured by the same developers, and your ERP, 3PL and CRM are connected before launch.
Launch. The switch is timed away from your busiest weeks, with redirects and structured data in place before it happens.
Grow. After launch the builders stay on for testing, paid media, email and support.
Ways to work with us
A project, a monthly team or senior advice on call.
There are three ways to work with us, and brands move between them as they grow. In all three you deal with the people doing the work.
Project build. An agreed scope with a go-live date, covering a new Shopify store or a move off Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Salesforce from first sketch to launch.
Growth retainer. Design, development, testing, paid media and email from a standing team on a monthly plan, the arrangement Poppy Elder and Nour Hammour have with us.
Consultancy partner. Your own people build, while we guide decisions on platform, channels and the next country and step in where it helps. Cream Cornwall has worked with us like this since its build.
Your contact is a senior person doing the work, with no account manager relaying messages. The people who build the store go on to run its search, ads and email, and ideas reach you after they have run on our own stores.
Our storyPartners
The apps we pay for ourselves.
Choosing apps well is a large share of Shopify work. The stack we connect includes Gorgias on customer service, Klaviyo on email and SMS, Junip on reviews, Loop on subscriptions and returns, DataFeedWatch on product feeds and Upstack Data on attribution, and each one runs on our own stores before we suggest it. That keeps the advice tied to what we pay for rather than to a referral fee. A stack that already works for you stays, and we integrate with it.
How we use themQuestions Edinburgh brands ask us
Do you have an office in Edinburgh?
- No. We have one office, and it is not in Edinburgh. We work with Edinburgh brands remotely and travel up where a project benefits from it, at kickoff and again before launch. A virtual address in the city would tell you nothing about who builds your store.
A lot of our customers are overseas. Can Shopify handle that properly?
- Yes, and for an Edinburgh brand selling abroad it is the most important part of the build. Shopify Markets gives you per-country pricing, currencies, tax handling and domains natively. Duties and delivered-cost clarity at checkout matter more than most brands expect, because unexpected charges on arrival are a common cause of refused deliveries.
We sell a lot around specific seasons. Does that change anything?
- It changes what the store has to survive. A brand doing much of its year in a short window needs a store that holds up under a traffic spike and a merchandising setup your team can change without a developer. Both are build decisions, and both are cheaper to make at the start.
Do you work with brands selling gifts and hampers?
- Yes. Bundles, personalisation, gift messaging and delivery-date selection are the standard requirements, and they are all solvable on Shopify. The complexity sits in the delivery logic rather than the products.
Do you work on Shopify Plus in Edinburgh?
- Yes, and export is what justifies it. Premium and giftable products bought by visitors and shipped home mean multiple currencies, duties and delivery promises that have to hold in several countries at once, which is Markets territory and where Plus earns its money. For a brand selling mainly within the UK, it does not yet.
Do you do SEO and international work for Edinburgh brands?
- Yes, and export changes the SEO brief. Shopify seo services edinburgh work for a premium or giftable product has to rank in more than one market, so hreflang, currency and shipping clarity matter as much as the keyword itself. An ecommerce agency edinburgh or ecommerce website development edinburgh enquiry that involves overseas buyers is worth scoping with duties and delivery settled first, because retrofitting those is the expensive version. The shopify developers Edinburgh brands need for that are the same people who set the markets up, not a separate international team.
We sell to stockists as well as direct to customers. Can one Shopify store do both?
- Yes. Shopify Plus includes B2B, so trade buyers log in to the same store and see their own catalogue, prices and payment terms while retail customers see the public range. We built a trade store like this for Black Sand, where each approved buyer sees their own catalogue and prices. With only a handful of stockists, a simpler wholesale setup on standard Shopify can be enough.
How long does a Shopify build take?
- It depends on scope, and the range is wide. We have shipped a bespoke build in seven days for a fashion show, while larger Shopify Plus builds run eight to sixteen weeks, in two-week stages on a staging theme you can review as it grows. For a seasonal Edinburgh brand we plan backwards from the busy weeks, so the store is live and settled before they arrive.
We want to change platform. When is the right time to move?
- Well clear of your busiest weeks. A migration needs a quiet stretch after launch for redirects to settle and for any problem to surface while traffic is modest. Every old URL is mapped to a new one before the switch, and customers, order history and subscriptions come across with the products. Bessette's store, domain and Google Workspace email all moved across with us.
Can you run paid ads to reach customers overseas?
- Yes. Our Meta, Google and TikTok campaigns are set up per market, so budget, currency and landing page match the country each ad appears in. Waldo, a Swiss dive watch brand, works with us on paid media and SEO. For a product that visitors find in the city and later want shipped home, a campaign aimed at people who have already been to your site is a sensible place to start.
Do you work with food and drink brands that sell on subscription?
- Yes. Knack Snacks, a food brand, was built subscription-first, with the delivery frequency chosen on the product page. Loop for subscriptions and Klaviyo for the emails around them both run on our own stores before we recommend them, so the setup you get is one we use ourselves.
