Run & Advise

Day-to-day care for a live store, plus senior judgement when a decision needs more than a ticket: audits, strategy and an ongoing growth partnership.

Shopify agency Australia

One senior Shopify team for Australian brands.

We design, develop and market Shopify stores for Australian brands that trade online first. Design, development, search, paid media, email and conversion work all sit inside one team, so nothing is handed to a contractor part-way through.

Everyone on a project has launched and run ecommerce stores themselves, and success is measured in revenue rather than deliverables. Two of the stores we run are our own, built on the same stack we would use for yours.

Cream Cornwall came to us for a build and a migration and stayed on for the consultancy.

Shopify maintenance and support

Ongoing support from the developers who know your store.

A monthly retainer for stores that need more than a help desk: app and theme updates checked before they reach checkout, fixes that hold, and a senior developer ready when something fails. Site speed is handled by the same people, so performance work and bug fixes never lose context between teams.

Fittr Nutrition, a brand we own, sits on the same support plan we offer clients. If it were not worth the fee, we would know first.

You get a written summary each month of what was done and what we recommend next.

Shopify SEO

Found in Google, and cited in AI answers.

Technical audits, keyword and content planning, and the structural changes that genuinely lift rankings, across Shopify and Shopify Plus. We also optimise for the AI assistants shoppers increasingly consult first, so your store is visible in both places.

Black Sand arrived with no storefront and now sells worldwide, with search as one of the channels behind that growth. Waldo, a Swiss dive watch brand, runs its SEO and paid media with us against heritage names that dominate the results.

The people who build your store also write its content and internal links, so changes go live in the theme rather than sitting in an audit document.

Shopify developers Australia

Custom themes, private apps and the integrations between them.

Our developers hand-write Liquid, JavaScript and theme architecture rather than relying on page builders. A brand that needs a bespoke theme gets one; a store whose theme is sound gets it extended properly, and an honest answer about which it needs.

Past the storefront, we build private apps for workflows no public app handles, headless front ends only where they justify the extra complexity, and integrations with the ERP, 3PL and CRM already running your business. Speed and technical SEO come built in.

Custom work is written to survive theme updates, and the developer who wrote it maintains it.

Shopify experts Australia

Design led by the buying journey, not the mood board.

Each project opens with research into your data, your competitors and where shoppers abandon the journey. Wireframes fix what every page needs to achieve before any styling, then your brand, imagery and tone of voice are applied to a layout already built to sell.

Designers and developers collaborate from the first sketch, so the detail survives the journey from approved design to live store, and every layout is tested against your actual products.

Templates are designed within a performance budget agreed up front, so good looks never cost load time.

Shopify migration

Replatforming without losing the search traffic you built.

We replatform brands to Shopify and Shopify Plus from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Salesforce, Wix and Squarespace. The reasons come down to lower total cost, hosting and PCI compliance taken off your hands, and new features that are a setting rather than a build.

Migrations rarely fail on the platform. They fail on a redirect map rushed out in launch week and product URLs that quietly changed. We plan search into the move from the start, alongside everything else that has to come across: Bessette moved its store, its domain and its Google Workspace email with us.

Every legacy URL has a mapped destination before go-live, and we maintain the redirect map afterwards.

Ecommerce agency Australia

A Shopify Plus partner for the long haul.

Our own brands trade on Shopify Plus, so we have used checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, Markets and B2B with our own money before we recommend them.

Most engagements continue as a retainer after launch, because that is where the compounding happens: one team across build, search, paid, email and CRO, a roadmap revisited when the numbers move, and a senior contact who knows your store.

And if Plus is not worth it for you yet, we will say so. The standard plan suits a great many successful brands.

Klaviyo email marketing

Email and SMS that turn first orders into regular customers.

Welcome, browse and cart-recovery flows that run on their own, segmentation so a first-time buyer never gets the message meant for a loyal one, and campaigns planned around what customers actually purchased. SMS where it earns the interruption, not by default.

We build in Klaviyo and test new flows on Powerlete, our own activewear label, before any client pays for them. Retention is the cheapest revenue in ecommerce and the most often ignored.

Every flow is reviewed on a set schedule, because a flow no one has checked in a year is still sending.

Selling overseas

Expanding beyond Australia without doubling the workload.

Taking an Australian store overseas is a set of decisions before it is a build: one store with Markets or several, how pricing and currency behave in each region, what gets translated, and which products should appear where. Settle those and Shopify does most of the heavy lifting.

We configure Markets, local pricing, duties and payment methods so the store feels local in every country it sells to. Black Sand went from no storefront to worldwide sales, built for international customers from the outset.

Where a dedicated storefront really earns its place, Shopify Plus expansion stores run it within the same organisation.

Shopify CRO

Testing priorities set by your data, not by opinion.

We study your category and competitors, review session recordings and heatmaps, and analyse your order data, then rank tests by the revenue they could unlock rather than how easy they are to build. Every test starts with a hypothesis.

WUKA engaged us for a store build and then a programme of conversion testing on a product that has to be explained before it sells. We run the same process on our own brands first, so our advice comes from results.

How we work

Five stages, run by one team throughout.

There is no handover between a design agency and a separate developer, which is where most budget and quality leaks away. Whoever scopes the work delivers it.

Scope. We begin with your current store and its real numbers, and agree what the next phase has to achieve before design starts.

Design. Every template works to a performance budget set up front, shaped around how your customers actually shop.

Build. The same developers build what they scoped, integrated with your ERP, 3PL and CRM, with GST-inclusive pricing and Australian shipping zones configured.

Launch. Redirects, structured data and search are handled before go-live, so the rankings you have earned carry over.

Grow. After launch the same team continues with testing, paid media, email and support.

Working together

Three ways to work with us.

Most clients start with one arrangement and move to another as the business grows. None of them puts an account manager between you and the people doing the work.

Project build. A defined scope with a go-live date: a new Shopify store, or a replatform from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Salesforce, designed, built and launched.

Growth retainer. An ongoing team for design, development, CRO, paid media and email, planned month by month against your roadmap. Knack Snacks, Poppy Elder and Nour Hammour work with us like this.

Consultancy partner. Your in-house team builds, and we advise on platform, channels and expansion, stepping in where it helps. Cream Cornwall and Bessette work with us on this basis.

Founder-led · Senior team · Own brands

Senior hands on every project.

No account managers relaying briefs: you speak to the people doing the work. The team that builds the store keeps running its search, advertising and retention afterwards, with every tactic already tried on the brands we own.

Our story

Partners

A stack proven on our own stores.

Choosing apps is half the job on Shopify. We integrate the tools that surround the platform: Klaviyo for email and SMS, Gorgias for helpdesk, Loop for subscriptions and returns, Junip for reviews, Upstack Data for attribution, and DataFeedWatch for product feeds. We run every one of them on our own stores before recommending it, so the advice comes from experience rather than commission. Where your existing stack already works, we integrate with it rather than rip it out.

How we use them

Questions Australian brands ask us

Can you build a store for an Australian brand?

Yes. The platform, checkout and build are the same wherever a brand trades; what changes is GST-inclusive pricing, Australian shipping zones and working hours, and those are part of the setup. We have built and grown more than a hundred Shopify stores since 2018, and we run two of our own.

How does working across time zones actually play out?

In your favour, when it is run properly. Our working day starts as yours finishes, so a brief sent in your late afternoon is picked up that evening your time and the work is ready when you wake. Every new enquiry gets a reply within 24 hours. What this does not suit is rapid back-and-forth in your morning, and we would rather say so up front.

Do you set up GST and Australian shipping?

Yes, through Shopify's own tax and shipping settings rather than an add-on. Prices display GST-inclusive, as Australian shoppers expect, and shipping zones and rates are configured before launch. Registration thresholds are a question for your accountant.

What about currency and invoicing?

Settled before any work begins, so nothing about the first invoice is a surprise. We work with clients in several countries as a matter of course, and we would rather agree the details on a call than print a promise here.

Can one agency run the build and the marketing?

Yes, and the results are better for it. The landing page and the ad pointing to it are planned together, and no one has to be briefed twice. Where a specialist would serve you better, we will tell you.

Will you take on a store another agency built?

Yes, regularly. We start with a handover and a performance baseline in month one, which speeds up everything that follows.

Is Shopify Plus required?

No. We work across every Shopify plan and will tell you when Plus is not yet worth the fee.

How long does a Shopify build take?

It depends on the catalogue and the integrations involved. We have delivered a bespoke build in seven days for a fashion show deadline, while larger Shopify Plus projects usually run eight to sixteen weeks, delivered in fortnightly stages on a staging theme.

Can we keep our own developer?

Of course. Some clients keep an in-house developer and use us for strategy, design or specialist work. We work alongside them rather than replacing them.

What happens once the store is live?

The team that built it stays on. Support, testing, paid media and email continue on a retainer, so you keep the people who already know the store.

Can you fix a slow store?

Yes. Most slow Shopify stores are carrying apps that still load code on every page long after anyone used them. We audit, strip out what is dead, defer what has to stay, and measure against the Core Web Vitals field data Google relies on.

Do you handle B2B and wholesale?

Yes. We build trade stores where each approved buyer sees their own range and pricing, as we did for Black Sand, and native B2B on Shopify Plus where volumes justify it.

Can you set up subscriptions?

Yes. Knack Snacks was built subscription-first, with delivery frequency chosen on the product page rather than added at checkout.

How do you report on results?

Against revenue and contribution margin rather than clicks or impressions, with a written monthly review of what changed and what we recommend next.

Do you work outside ecommerce?

Yes. For businesses selling a service, we build the lead generation: the website, the tracking, the paid media and the funnel behind it.
